Kermit High School Rotary Student of the Month for January 2024
The Rotary student of the month for January is Kermit High School Senior, Elizabeth Brown. She is the daughter of James and Gayla Brown.
Elizabeth has been a member of the Varsity Girls Powerlifting Team, which she was a Regional Qualifier that took place at Shamrock High School in Shamrock, Texas. She has also been a member of the Special Olympics Unified Track Team, along with being a member of the percussion section where she was also an officer for the band. She is also a trainer in the Sports Medicine Program.
Elizabeth was the recipient of the Braulio Vargas Award during her junior year, along with being awarded the Superintendent Award for each year throughout her academic career. This year, Elizabeth was selected to the All-State Academic team for the 2023 football season as an athletic trainer.
Her hobbies are reading books, hiking/walking, listening to music, history, learning about different cultures, cooking and baking. Elizabeth also has a passion for the medical field, which includes being a student in the Certified Nursing Program for her senior year.
Elizabeth’s plans for the future after graduating from high school are to become a doctor of physical therapy.
